Frame from Psycho (1960). / Alfred Hitchcock on the set of Psycho.
There has been consensus that the subject represented in this painting is Susannah and the Elders, an episode from the Book of Daniel in which two old men spy on a woman as she bathes.

Janet Leigh pretending to learn her lines on the toilet for Psycho (1960, dir. Alfred Hitchcock).
Talking about the photograph, she said:
“I did present Hitch with a surprise of my own, however. Because of the toilet’s importance, I schemed with the prop man to put a regular potty in my dressing room, and then the still man took a picture of me sitting on the john reading the script. Hitch got a good chuckle from that.”
