Dear cinephile followers (and non-followers), I need your advice.
I have to analyze, for my Semiotics class, four films from four different decades and the focus is the representation of women.
I have already chosen It (1927) and Some Like It Hot (1959). But I’ve still got to pick a film from the 1980s and another from the 2000s.
From the 1980s, I’m considering Fatal Attraction but I’m not sure (for those of you who have watched it, do you think it is interesting in terms of female representation?). From the 2000s, I’m considering Chicago and Moulin Rouge, but the problem is, they’re set in past decades.
Do you have any suggestions? (The film has to have at least one Oscar nomination. The professor required it.)
Thanks!
